STATEMENT CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF SOBA CANADA

Today, the SOBA spirit crosses oceans. What began on the hills of Sasse and Nigeria in 1947 now takes root in CANADA, carried in the hearts of our brothers who have remained true to being their brother’s keeper despite the distance.

The Mother Chapter salutes your vision, your unity, and your courage to organize. By constituting SOBA CANADA, you affirm that a SOBAN never ceases to be a SOBAN, no matter the geography. You extend the hand of fellowship across continents and you strengthen the chain that binds all of us to Sasse College.

And how do we celebrate such a moment? In true SOBA fashion: with an all-inclusive barbecue.

This is no ordinary gathering. It is a table where every brother has a seat. A place where age, class, profession, or zip code are set aside, and only the bond of Sasse remains. Around that fire, we grill more than meat; we forge brotherhood, share stories of SOBA, and lay plans for service to SOBA and our Alma Mater.

On behalf of the SOBA BUEA MOTHER CHAPTER, I extend to you our warmest congratulations and our full support. May CANADA grow in numbers, in strength, and in service. May this celebration barbecue in your honour translate to meetings with wisdom, and the same steam that has kept SOBA alive for 79 years.
